The digital tasbih, reimagined

The tasbih is a support for worship, not a product. Yet the dhikr app market is filled almost exclusively with utility counters wrapped in shiny 3D beads and intrusive advertising.

Sukūn starts from a different intuition: to create a spiritual companion that respects the gesture, supports presence of the heart (khushūʿ), and steps aside when not needed.

A tasbih app designed for the worldwide Muslim community — English, French, Arabic-speaking and beyond. Available free of charge on Android, soon on iOS.

Our principles

01

Sacred first.

This is worship, not a game. No gamification, no guilt-inducing streaks, no anxious notifications. Motivation comes from intention (niyyah), not from engagement mechanics.

02

Calm technology.

The app lives in the periphery. No pop-ups, no solicitations. It fades away to make room for the dhikr.

03

Hand before eyes.

Feedback is haptic, sonic, and visual — designed for one-handed use, with eyes half-closed.

04

Total privacy.

Your data stays on your device. No tracking, no advertising, no account required.

Four moments
of the application.

Sukūn isn't meant to be demonstrated; it's meant to be lived. Still, here are four instants — the ambience you've chosen above carries over.

01 — The threshold

Before counting,
a breath.

A page that sets the intention before the dhikr. بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ in calligraphy, the chosen context — After the salāt, Tasbīḥ of Fāṭima, free — and a phrase that reminds us the essential happens elsewhere.

You enter when you're ready. Or you cross through, if you know the way.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ
Bismi-llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
A breath.
The intention settles into the heart.
You are entering
After the salāt
سُبْحَانَ ٱللَّٰهِ · ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّٰهِ · ٱللَّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ
Touch when you feel ready
Skip this threshold

02 — The moment

One bead
at a time.

The counter, with one hand, eyes half-closed. Precise haptics, discreet sound, subtle visual motion — the sensation is built as a trio, so it remains true on every device, including entry-level Android phones.

The number is there, but it doesn't pull the attention. It's the hand that leads, not the screen.

After the salāt
سُبْحَانَ ٱللَّٰهِ
SubḥānAllāh
Glory be to Allah

03 — The adhkār

Calligraphy
treated
as an art.

The formulae in Arabic with their complete vocalisation — the vowel marks one reads in the Qurʾān, almost always botched elsewhere —, their scientific transliteration, and the English translation.

سُبْحَانَ ٱللَّٰهِ, ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّٰهِ, ٱللَّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ, the 99 names of Allah, the istighfār, the ṣalawāt, and your own personalised adhkār.

04 — Reflection

To see, without
being graded.

No streaks. No badges. No leaderboard. An honest reading of your steadfastness, backed by a ḥadīth — one that you can switch off entirely with a single tap, at which point this screen disappears.

The numbers stay on your device. Sukūn has no server: no one, outside, knows how many you've done.
